Storyrod™ is a measuring and estimating app for iOS made by Meyer App Studio, LLC. It turns a scan of a room into a floor plan, a material takeoff and a client-ready PDF. This policy explains what the app does with your information. The short version: your work stays on your device.
Almost none, and nothing that identifies you unless you choose to sign in. Storyrod has no analytics of its own, and your plans, prices and client details never leave your device.
If you sign in with Apple — which is optional, and only worth doing so that jobs you have bought follow you to a new phone — we hold:
That is the whole list. It is held to run the account and nothing else: never sold, never used for advertising, never used to track you across other apps or websites. Signed out, none of it exists.
Sign-in diagnostics. The sign-in component Storyrod uses, Firebase Authentication from Google, sends Google basic diagnostic information about how that component is running, whether or not you sign in. It is not linked to you, and it is not used to track you or for advertising.
Storyrod uses the camera, and the LiDAR sensor on devices that have one, to measure rooms. That happens entirely on your device, in the moment, to work out where the walls are. Storyrod does not record video, does not save photographs of the room, and does not upload anything it sees.
Your plans, room measurements, job and client details, contractor profile, company logo, rates and price book, and any plans you have bought are saved only on your device. They are never sent to us or to anyone else. Deleting the app deletes your plans and settings.
If you use iCloud Backup, your device's backup may include this data. That backup is between you and Apple; we have no access to it.
A plan can hold a client's name, phone number, email address and job address, because an estimate needs them. Storyrod keeps that on your device and does nothing else with it. You entered it, it is yours to look after, and you are responsible for how you use and share the documents you create with it.
When you export or print a plan, an estimate or a CAD file, Storyrod writes the document and hands it to the iOS share sheet or to AirPrint. Where it goes next — email, Messages, Files, a printer — is your choice, and is governed by whatever service you send it to. Storyrod does not see or keep a copy.
Jobs are sold through Apple's In-App Purchase system. Apple handles the payment; Storyrod never sees your card, your Apple Account or your billing details.
Signed out, the app records how many jobs you have left on your own device, in the iOS keychain. Signed in, that balance is also held against your account so it survives a lost or replaced phone — Apple does not restore one-time purchases, which is the only reason accounts exist here.
Account → Delete Account, in the app. It removes your account and the balance held against it, straight away and for good. Any unused jobs go with it and cannot be recovered. The plans, prices and client details on your device are untouched — they were never ours.
Storyrod is offered under Apple's standard end-user license agreement — see the Licensed Application End User License Agreement.
Storyrod marks every dimension with where it came from — a LiDAR scan, a camera estimate, something you drew, or a measurement you typed in yourself — and prints those marks on the documents it produces. They are an aid to estimating, not a substitute for verifying critical dimensions on site before ordering material or committing to a price.
Account records are held on Google Cloud (Firebase) in the United States, on our behalf. Nobody else has access to them.
Storyrod is a tool for building trades and is not directed at children. An account requires an Apple Account, which Apple governs.
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted at this address with a new effective date.
