When you first open Housemark, name your home and pick the seasonal tasks you want reminders for, such as winterizing outdoor faucets, cleaning gutters or testing smoke alarms. You can change the list at any time from the Schedule tab.
If you bought a home whose previous owner used Housemark, choose I have a Home Passport from the seller on the first screen and pick the transfer file they gave you. The whole home, with its equipment, schedule and history, is set up for you.
Housemark requires iOS 17 or later on iPhone and iPad, or Android 8.0 or later.
Tap the scan button and photograph the appliance's rating label: the sticker or metal plate with the model and serial number. It is usually inside the refrigerator, on the side of the water heater, behind the furnace's front panel or inside the dishwasher door.
Housemark reads the label on your device and fills in the brand, model, serial number, type and, for furnaces and air conditioners, the filter size. Anything it read is highlighted so you can check it. If it picked the wrong line, scroll down to Text on label and tap the correct line to use it instead.
For the best results, fill the frame with the label, avoid glare from a flash on shiny plates, and hold steady.
Saving an appliance adds the maintenance it needs, such as filter changes, water heater flushes or dryer vent cleaning. Tap the circle next to a task to mark it done; the next due date moves forward automatically. Open a task to log the date, a note or the cost, which builds a service history you can hand to the next owner.
Recurring tasks repeat from the day you actually did them. Seasonal tasks, like winterizing, stay on their date each year. If you do a seasonal task early, it moves to next year rather than reminding you again a few weeks later.
Reminders arrive at the time you choose in Settings. If they don't appear, check that notifications are allowed for Housemark in the iOS Settings app.
The Passport tab holds where things are and how to use them: the main water shut-off, gas shut-off, electrical panel and more. Add a photo and write directions a house-sitter or plumber could follow. Emergency shut-offs are always listed first.
Record paint by room and surface with the brand, color name, code and finish, so touch-ups match.
Everything you need for one home is free: label scanning, equipment, reminders, shut-offs, paint and manual links.
Housemark Pro adds unlimited homes and Home Passport exports. Pro is a one-time purchase: pay once, with no subscription and nothing to renew, and it's shared with your Family Sharing group. The price is shown in the app in your local currency.
Restore purchases, in Settings or at the bottom of the Pro screen, brings Pro back on a new or reset device signed in to the same Apple Account.
Refunds are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.
From the Passport tab, Export Home Passport creates two files. The PDF is for buyers, agents, inspectors or your insurer: equipment with warranties, the maintenance record and service history, shut-off locations and paint colors. The transfer file is for the next owner: opening it in Housemark recreates the whole home on their phone. Importing a Passport is free.
A Passport includes serial numbers and photos of your shut-offs, so share it only with the people you intend to.
Housemark for Android is on Google Play. It has the same scanning, reminders, shut-offs, paint and Home Passport as the iPhone version, with these differences:
The scan didn't find the model or serial. Try again closer, with the label filling most of the frame and no glare. Some older plates are stamped rather than printed and read less reliably; you can always type the values in, or tap the right line under Text on label.
Where are the owner's manual and parts links taking me? Housemark opens a web search for your exact model's manual, or for parts at a retailer. Shopping links may earn Meyer App Studio a commission at no extra cost to you.
Does Housemark sync between my devices? Starting with Housemark 1.1, yes. Your homes, equipment, schedules, service history, shut-offs, paint colors and photos sync through your own private iCloud to every iPhone and iPad signed in to the same Apple Account. Only your devices can read it; we can't. Sync is on when you're signed in to iCloud, and you can turn it off in Housemark under Settings › iCloud, where the status line also shows whether it's working. Synced data counts toward your iCloud storage.
Is my data backed up? Your records are stored on your device and included in your normal iPhone or iPad backup. iCloud sync keeps your devices in step but isn't a separate backup: deleting a home on one device deletes it on all of them. Exporting a Home Passport is a good way to keep a copy.
How do I move to a new phone? With iCloud sync on, sign in to the same Apple Account on the new phone and open Housemark; your homes download automatically. Without sync, restoring your new iPhone from a backup of the old one brings Housemark's data with it.
Can I share my home with my partner or family? No, not live. Sync works across one Apple Account's devices only. To hand the whole record to someone else, export a Home Passport.
