Add a property with its name, address and type (Short-term rental, Residential, Commercial or Job site). WalkProof fills in a starting list of rooms for that type. You can add, remove and reorder rooms under Rooms & areas or straight from the camera.
Then choose an inspection type, such as Move-in / check-in, Move-out / check-out, Guest turnover, Routine inspection, Incident or Maintenance / service, and open the camera.
WalkProof requires an iPhone with iOS 17 or later.
Pick the room at the top of the camera and the condition for the next photo at the bottom: Good, Wear, Damage or Missing. Each photo is saved with the time, the room and, if location is allowed, where it was taken. WalkProof suggests an item name, such as Refrigerator or Sofa, and warns you if a photo looks blurry or too dark so you can retake it on the spot.
WalkProof doesn't judge damage for you. You choose the condition; the app records it.
Tap a photo afterwards to add a note or change its item or condition. Photos added from your library are labeled Imported from library on the report, because WalkProof can't vouch for when or where they were taken.
When you're done, tap Seal. Sign with your finger and, if you like, hand the phone to the guest, tenant, owner or client for a second signature. Sealing checks every photo, records a fingerprint of each one and signs the whole inspection with your device's key. After sealing, the inspection can't be edited.
The PDF report puts action items first (anything marked Wear, Damage or Missing), followed by photos room by room. Each photo is stamped with the report number, time and location. The report ends with the signatures and an integrity seal.
Share a report from its preview. Two files go together: the PDF and a small .walkproof-verify.json file. Anyone can drop the verify file onto meyerappstudio.com/walkproof/verify to check that the report hasn't been changed since it was sealed. The check runs in their browser and nothing is uploaded.
Valid means the photos' fingerprints, times, locations, conditions, notes and signatures are exactly as sealed. It doesn't identify who held the phone, and it can't show that a scene wasn't staged.
When you open the camera and when you seal, WalkProof compares your phone's clock with network time. The report says whether photo times matched network time, flags any photo taken while the phone's clock was off, and notes photos taken offline that couldn't be checked.
Open an inspection and tap Compare to see it side by side with another inspection of the same property. Photos are paired by room and item name, so give items the same name both times (for example Kitchen · Countertop). Each pair shows whether the condition got worse, got better or stayed the same. Items photographed before but not this time are flagged, and so are new items. With WalkProof Pro and both inspections sealed, you can share a comparison PDF.
Free includes everything for capturing and sealing, with up to 3 sealed reports per month. The count resets on the first of each month.
WalkProof Pro adds unlimited sealed reports, your logo and company name on reports with no WalkProof footer, comparison PDFs, CSV export and iCloud sync & backup. Pro is an auto-renewing subscription, monthly or yearly; the yearly plan starts with a free trial. Prices are shown in the app in your local currency.
Manage or cancel your subscription in the iOS Settings app under your name › Subscriptions, at least 24 hours before it renews. Restore purchases in WalkProof's Settings brings Pro back on a new device signed in to the same Apple Account. Apple handles refunds at reportaproblem.apple.com.
Turn on Sync with iCloud in WalkProof's Settings to keep your properties, inspections, reports and original photos in your private iCloud and on your other iPhones signed in to the same Apple Account. Photos keep their original fingerprints, so reports still verify on every device. Synced data counts toward your iCloud storage. Sync works within one Apple Account only; it isn't for sharing with other people.
Location shows "Not recorded". Location is stamped only when location access is allowed for WalkProof and the phone has a fresh fix. Indoors, give it a few seconds with the camera open. The badge at the top of the camera shows the current accuracy.
I made a mistake in a sealed report. Sealed reports can't be edited, by design. Start a new inspection to record the correction.
Seal says a photo "no longer matches its fingerprint". The photo file changed after it was taken, which shouldn't happen in normal use. Delete that photo and retake it.
I got a new phone. With iCloud sync on, your inspections come back when you sign in to the same Apple Account. Without sync, restore your new iPhone from a backup of the old one. Your new phone signs future reports with a new key; reports sealed on the old phone still verify.
